Our annual office chocolate recipe competition was back to in-person this year after going virtual during the pandemic. Entries ranged from above-average execution of Swedish classics (nice thumbprints, Sven!) to avant-garde, meta-culinary experiences (chocolate-covered pickles…thank you, Art). But the winning recipe was the clear standout, and our champion is not from the old guard, but a new face around here.
Our 2023 winner is Jason Shi with his “Chocolate Salami” recipe! Don’t worry, it is unlike Art’s pickles. Jason joined our operations team in May as a Portfolio Administrator, and many of you may have already heard his voice on the phone or received an email from him. Jason grew up in northeastern China and came to the U.S. to do an MBA at Wright State in Ohio. He has made Vermont his home for the past nine years and lives in Williston with his wife and three children. We will be introducing Jason more fully in the new year, but for now we’ll say we are glad to see such an effort in his first chocolate competition. Congratulations, Jason!
