Eric founded Hanson & Doremus Investment Management in 1995. In 2021 Eric stepped back from full time involvement with the firm. He is no longer an employee or an officer at Hanson & Doremus although he continues to write for the firm’s investment newsletter.
Eric started his investment career in 1971, first with Howard Bank, then Fraser Management Associates. Eric holds a BA from St. Lawrence University, where he is Trustee Emeritus. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
Eric lives in Greensboro, Vermont with his wife Yang Xin, is active in the community, and a Selectboard member. He is currently a board member of VTDigger and has served as Board chair of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, the Champlain Valley Agency on Aging (Age Well), the Vermont Nature Conservancy, Wake Robin Continuing Care Retirement Community and the Vermont Council on World Affairs in the past.
